How Prayer, Visualization and Affirmations can be used to Save Your Marriage
Prayers, Visualization and Affirmations are especially useful when you are saving your marriage alone. Many years ago when I began my healing journey, I shied away from using the word Spirit/God. I would only use techniques that appealed to the mind. I would use visualizations and affirmations, so long as there was no mention of God/Spirit in them. That was because of the bad experiences I had with an organized religion that I used to belong to once upon a time. I would still say the techniques without the mention of God/Spirit were good, but not nearly half as effective as when I integrated Spirit/God into them. So here I would like to show you the differences I experienced through integrating Spirit into my work. QUESTIONS Why use the word Spirit/Source/God when I can just use visualizations and affirmations on their own?
Isn't God/Source's duty to punish us for our sins?
What is the difference between Affirmative Prayer and Beseeching Prayer?
Isn't our fate already cast in stone? If I invite God, then isn't He going to tell me that it is my fate to end my marriage?
You mentioned that when you prayed, you received a beam of light. Did you make that up?
Isn't he fated to be with the other woman?
He has already left me. He has moved out. In fact he has already filed the papers. It is too late to change anything now. He was talking about marrying her. He said clearly that he does not love me anymore. He will forget about me - I am going to be history. Is my situation hopeless?
Can I make someone love me?
Are Near Death Experiences for real?
Why use the word Spirit/Source/God when I can just use visualizations and affirmations on their own? In Affirmations Using the word Spirit (or equivalent thereof) gives the affirmations an extra boost of high-vibrational energy and credibility. For instance: Note the difference in the following examples. -"I can do anything I want." vs "I can do anything through God, who strengthens me." - "I forgive.I let go." vs "Indwelling Spirit in my forgiving power." - "I am completely healed." vs "Divine Love heals me completely." Which version makes you feel better? In the first instance, you feel like you have to rely on your own power to bring about what you are affirming for and you have to believe in the affirmations. If you end up feeling bad about what you are affirming for because some part of you is doubting their credibility, then the affirmations won't work. In the second instance, you can easily believe the affirmations simply because you believe and have faith in a higher power. In Visualizations I noticed remarkable changes when I guided my clients through visualizations. When I asked them to introduce God, or a representative of God eg Christ (depending on their beliefs) the whole energy of the room would change. Vibrations of extraordinary peace and love will prevail in the room. We both feel the presence of God or their representative. The best part was that the changes that effected in my clients were much more profound. The answers that they got produced "aha" moments in them. I myself called on the presence of God in my visualizations and this one time, I invoked Christ and visualized him. I felt his presence to my right and I was healed of the recurring nightmares that stemmed from of my college days, for over 10 years, in two days. I integrated the visualization with the Time Line technique. So, there you have it, when you integrate Spirit/God into your marriage healing, the power of salvation is far greater. There is a logical explanation for this and it is simple. If everything in the universe is energy, then God/Spirit carries the highest vibrational energy and as such, God/Spirit has the utmost power to transform all other energies. From then, I steered clear of any other "Beings of Light" normally used in New Age Circles. This is not to say that they are wrong, it is just my preference not to use them. BACK TO TOP
Isn't God/Source's duty to punish us for our sins? I did extensive research on Near Death Experiences. People repeatedly report accounts of a benevolent God that is filled with so much love that it is incomprehensible to the human mind. They report resting on the lap of God, resting in His loving presence. Most who have had this experience do not wish to come back but was made to because of unfinished business in their lives. I myself have encountered this sort of Divine Love - it is nothing like the love you feel for a man, it feels extraordinarily nurturing and there is this feeling of total, unconditional acceptance of who you are. It penetrates deep into your soul. Here are an excepts from the http://www.near-death.com/ website God is the Light That Loves - Within the light of God, we realize that everyone and everything is connected to God. In the light is the cure for all diseases, the knowledge within every universe. The light is wisdom and love beyond all comprehension. (Dr. Dianne Morrissey) - The joy of being in the light of God can be so intense, we may think we are going to shatter. But God will not let us shatter. We are not permitted to take in more of this bliss and joy than we are able to handle at a time. (Jayne Smith) - Of all our emotions, though, near-death experiencers declare that love is primary. Not the kind of love that possesses, expects, or seeks domination. The love as defined by experiencers is an unconditional energy that unifies, heals, and uplifts. Most of them think of it as the "glue" that links the created with the Creator. This love is considered heart-based and compassionate yet never sentimental in the sense of attachments or exclusivity. Love, real love, they say, is felt as if the human heart has the power to encompass eternity.(Dr. PMH Atwater) God is Love - God is love in its purest form ... To be in his presence and share his love, we must become as he is and learn to love without judgments or conditions. (Betty Eadie) - God's standard is pure love. Our lives will be compared to this standard in the light of God. Pure love is serving God and others without any self-centered motives. Self-centered motives are what makes our acts (as the scriptures say) "dirty rags" before God. (Daniel Rosenblit) - With all of this understanding, I understood again that love is supreme. Love must govern. Love always governs the spirit, and the spirit must be strengthened to rule the mind and flesh. I understood the natural order of love everywhere. First, we must love the Creator. This is the greatest love we can have (although we may not know this until we meet him). Then we must love ourselves. I knew that without feelings of self-love the love we feel for others is counterfeit. Then, we must love all others as ourselves. As we see the light of Christ in ourselves, we will see it in others, too, and it will become impossible not to love that part of God in them.(Betty Eadie) God is Everything - The only reality is God and God is love. God loves without limit. God is everything. (Linda Stewart) - I remember a near-death experiencer say that their experience of being one with God was like suddenly knowing absolutely everything - like suddenly becoming aware of every grain of sand in the universe and knowing why it was put there. (Kevin Williams) God is Life - God is everywhere because nothing exists that is not a part of God. God is neither a man nor a woman nor a thing. Life itself is God. (Dr. PMH Atwater) - All creation is God exploring God's very being through every way imaginable, through every one of us. (Mellen-Thomas Benedict) God is Energy - The Master-Vibrational energy of God controls the universe and seems to regulate everything except the ignorance within the minds of people on Earth. (Arthur Yensen) - God is the creative energy of the universe, expressing itself as us and everything else. Wherever we are, God is. Like God, we are constantly expressing ourselves in some way. (Jan Price) The Nature of God - God has a vantage point we can never perceive. He sees into our eternal pasts and futures and knows our eternal needs. In his great love he answers prayers according to this eternal and omniscient perspective. He answers all prayers perfectly. (Betty Eadie) - The small inner voice in your thoughts is the voice of God. (Sandra Rogers) - God wants us to become as he is, and has invested us with godlike qualities. I understood that he wants us to draw on the powers of heaven, and that by believing we are capable of doing so, we can. (Betty Eadie) - The little voice inside us that prompts us to do good things comes from God. It is the light of love inside each of us. (Kerry Kirk) - God perfectly understands our lack of knowledge. He knows that most of us do not remember our commitments to him. In his eyes we are like little children: susceptible and even expected to make mistakes. (Betty Eadie) - In the light of God, it is impossible to lie to yourself, or to others or to God. There is no place for secrets to hide. (Dr. George Ritchie) - God does not judge us when we die. In the clear light and love of God, some may judge, condemn and punish only themselves. There is no judgment except the judgment one levels at oneself. (Kevin Williams) - God has promised not to intervene in our lives unless we ask. (Betty Eadie) - It is God's love for us that sends us on our journey and it is our love for God that allows us to return to God's loving arms again. (David Goines) - God feels the pain we feel and inflict on others. (Sandra Rogers) - One of the grandest mysteries of God is his foreknowledge. Truth is knowledge of things as they were, as they are, and as they are to come. God, possessing all truth, has the ability to know all things in advance. This being the case, we can trust him to give us only that which will be good for us in completing our life's mission successfully. (Betty Eadie) - God's overriding desire is to purify the darkness of our souls, irrespective of the suffering it puts us through to achieve that end. If we learn to accept our situations in life, instead of getting angry, then our suffering is greatly minimized. (Daniel Rosenblit) - God never uses his love to hurt us. To do so would countermand his own law of judgment. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." So he will never let us down, will never forsake us. His love is extended to all, and he knows exactly how to reach each person. (Betty Eadie)
Furthermore, Agnes Sanford, a famous Christian healer writes, "God is both within us and without us. He is the Source of all life; the Creator of universe behind universe; and of unimaginable depths of inter-stellar space and of light-years without end. But He is also the indwelling life of our own little selves. And just as a whole world full of electricity will not light a house unless the house itself is prepared to receive that electricity, so the infinite and eternal life of God cannot help us unless we are prepared to receive that life within ourselves. Only the amount of God that we can get in us will work for us."
She dispels commonly held beliefs about God, "We must learn that God is not an unreasonable and impulsive sovereign who breaks His own laws at will. As soon as we learn that God does things through us (not for us), the matter becomes as simple as breathing, as inevitable as sunrise." "When our electric lights work partially or not at all, we know that the lack of power is not in the universal and infinite and eternal flow of electricity in the universe, but in the wiring that connects us with that flow. When Edison had tried some hundreds of times to find a wire that could transmit a continuous flow of electricity, and had failed some hundreds of times, he did not say, "It is not the will of electricity to shine continuously in my wire." He tried again. He believed that it was in the will, that is, in the nature, of electricity to produce this steady light. He concluded, therefore, that there was some adjustment to the laws of electricity that he had not yet made, and he determined to make that adjustment. For more than six thousand times he tried again. And he succeeded in making electricity shine continuously in a wire. That is faith." "We have tried often to make this creative power flow through us, saying, "Oh, God, please do this or that!" And He has not done this or that, so we have concluded that there is no use in prayer, because God, if there is such a Being, will do as He likes regardless of our wishes. In other words, we doubt the willingness or the ability of God to actually produce within our lives and bodies the results that we desire. We do not doubt our own ability to come into His presence and fill ourselves with Him, but His willingness to come into us and fill us with Himself."
Then she teaches us how to pray effectively. What made her a credible source is that she used these techniques herself to bring about miraculous healings in the lives of hundreds of people. Notice how she recommends the practice of visualization. "When we ask for the indwelling of God's Holy Spirit in the body, let us think of that part of the body that most needs His life. Let us imagine His light and life glowing there like a fire, shining there like a light. Then through the rest of the day let us continually give thanks that His life is at work within us accomplishing His perfect will and recreating us after His image and likeness, which is perfection. If we have sought God for a simple thing such as a healing of a cold in the head, we may find that healing perfected in a few minutes. If we have sought Him for the rebuilding of bones or nerves or sinuses, the complete healing may take time and patience. Most of us need every day to enter into God's presence and focus our attention first upon Him and then upon the area that needs healing, so that God may have every opportunity of continuing His creative work in us. But after the first time, we may say, "Thank You," instead of, "Please." "Thank You that Your Life is entering into me rebuilding everything toward health." We may then use our creative imaginations and make a picture in our minds of that perfection which we hope will be ours. And finally we may look steadily at that picture until it is accomplished. Thus by harnessing the imagination and training the will, we can arouse and build our faith."

What is the difference between Affirmative Prayer and Beseeching Prayer? I have found affirmative prayers made me feel better than beseeching prayers. The more I asked God "please make this happen..", the worse I felt. As I carried on praying, the more fearful I got. I feared that God will not answer my prayers. I feared that he would not answer it because I was being selfish and greedy. Then I tried affirmative prayers and I felt so much more positive, relaxed and comforted in the knowing that my prayers have already been answered. Big difference. People write to me prayers and I can instantly sense the desperation and fearful energies in their emails. That is why I created the affirmative prayer videos. "Affirmative prayer is the type preferred by most experiences (as opposed to pleading and beseeching prayer), where the biblical teaching "It is done unto you in accordance with your belief." is the proper prayerful attitude. Prayer is a practical life skill that is powerful in its use. Just ask child experiencers. So many of them actually "saw" prayer beams of bright or rainbow light arc over from the one saying the prayer to help, comfort, or heal another. Many of them were recipients of prayer as well, and described how warm and good they felt after the prayer beam touched them. I, for one can't imagine starting my day without time spent in prayer." "One of the prayers I often say when I hear an ambulance siren is, "I affirm that Divine Order is in charge of this situation for the highest good of all concerned. Thank you God, for this truth, and the truth of our value in your eyes. Amen." --Dr. PMH Atwater, The Big Book of NDEs, A Near Death Experience survivor and researcher

Isn't our fate already cast in stone? If I invite God, then isn't He going to tell me that it is my fate to end my marriage? NO WAY. You have no idea how much influence you have over your life. Dr. PMH Atwater, a NDE survivor writes, "The Range of Our Choices and What We Focus On
Experiencers, adult as well as child, return to life bowled over by the discovery that they now have and have always had the power to make choices independent of what had seemed expected of them. The realization really hits home that none of us is as much a victim of circumstance as we are guilty of ignoring the responsibility that goes with making a decision. Even little kids come back aware of this; many were shown the results of their choices, sometimes even of their parent's choices, during their scenario.
Free will exists. Even though we can't always control the circumstances of our lives (what happens to us), we are in control how we respond to those circumstances. What is revealed to most experiencers is that they have a broader range of choices than they had thought and more power to change the conditions in their life than they had realized.
Interestingly, this new awareness that "choice is the life process" goes hand in hand with the discovery of how significant our attention is—what we focus on. We empower whatever we focus on. We make an issue or item more important than it would have been otherwise if we dwell on our notice of it. Recognizing this has inspired most experiencers to be more careful of the movies they see, the television programs they witch, what they read, listen to, purchase, or concentrate on.
They become more selective and make wiser choices. Discovering the range of what can be affected through choices made and attention given, powerfully drives home the point that what holds most of us back in life is how we see ourselves. Once we shift our self-image to reflect the higher truth we have come to know about our spiritual identity, our world and everything in it transforms right before our eyes." -- Dr. PMH Atwater, The Big Book of NDEs, A Near Death Experience survivor and researcher
Betty Eadie (Embracing the Light) writes, also an NDE survivor describes in great detail how she "saw" the effects of our thoughts, emotions and desires. "Positive and negative energies work in opposition to each other. And when we internalize these energies, they become our servants. Positive attracts positive, and negative attracts negative. Light cleaves to light, and darkness loves darkness. If we become mostly positive or mostly negative, we begin to associate with others like us. But we have the choice to become positive or negative. Simply by thinking positive thoughts and speaking positive words we attract positive energy. I saw that this is the case. I saw different energies surround different people. I saw how a persons words actually affect the energy field around him. The very words themselves—the vibrations in the air—attract one type of energy or another. A persons desires have a similar effect. There is power in our thoughts. We create our own surroundings by the thoughts we think. Physically, this may take a period of time, but spiritually it is instantaneous. If we understood the power of our thoughts, we would guard them more closely. If we understood the awesome power of our words, we would prefer silence to almost anything negative. In our thoughts and words we create our own weaknesses and our own strengths. Our limitations and joys begin in our hearts. We can always replace negative with positive.
I understood that life is lived most fully in the imagination—that, ironically, imagination is the key to reality. This is something I never would have supposed. We are sent here to live life fully, to live it abundantly, to find joy in our own creations, whether they are new thoughts or things or emotions or experiences. We are to create our own lives, to exercise our gifts and experience both failure and success. We are to use our free will to expand and magnify our lives." -- Embracing the Light

You mentioned that when you prayed, you received a beam of light. Did you make that up? No. Again, here are some documented experiences, "So many of them actually "saw" prayer beams of bright or rainbow light arc over from the one saying the prayer to help, comfort, or heal another. Many of them were recipients of prayer as well, and described how warm and good they felt after the prayer beam touched them. I, for one can't imagine starting my day without time spent in prayer." -- Dr. PMH Atwater, The Big Book of NDEs, A Near Death Experience survivor and researcher
I have found Betty Eadie's account most inspiring. "The heavens scrolled back again, and I saw the sphere of earth rotating in space. I saw many lights shooting up from the earth like beacons. Some were very broad and charged into heaven like broad laser beams. Others resembled the illumination of small penlights, and some were mere sparks. I was surprised as I was told that these beams of power were the prayers of people on earth. I saw angels rushing to answer the prayers. They were organized to give as much help as possible. As they worked within this organization, they literally flew from person to person, from prayer to prayer, and were filled with love and joy by their work. They delighted to help us and were especially joyful when somebody prayed with enough intensity and faith to be answered immediately. They always responded to the brighter, larger prayers first, then each prayer in turn, until all of them were answered. I did notice, however, that insincere prayers of repetition have little if any light; and having no power, many of them are not heard."-- Embracing the Light
"I was distinctly told that all prayers of desire are heard and answered. When we have great need, or when we are praying for other people, the beams project straight from us and are immediately visible."-- Embracing the Light
Again reinforcing the Biblical saying"It is done unto you in accordance with your belief." "I understood that once our prayers of desire have been released, we need to let go of them and trust in the power of God to answer them. He knows our needs at all times and is simply waiting for an invitation to help us. He has all power to answer prayers, but he is bound by his own law and by our wills. We must invite his will to become our own. We must trust him. Once we have asked with sincere desire, doubting nothing, we will receive."-- Embracing the Light
She talks about how Gratitude is an important ingredient of prayer. "I also understood the importance of thanking God for the things we receive. Gratitude is an eternal virtue. In humility we must ask, and in gratitude we should receive. The more we thank God for the blessings we receive, the more we open the way for further blessings. His desire to bless us is full to overflowing. If we will open our hearts and minds to receive his blessings, we too will be filled to overflowing. We will know that he lives. We may become like the angels themselves, helping others who are in need. In prayer and service our lights will always shine. Service is the oil to our lamps generated by compassion and love."

Isn't he fated to be with the other woman? On your wedding day, you made a vow to God to love, honor and cherish your husband, not her. When you embark on a journey to save your marriage, you are merely keeping your wedding vows. She should be asking that question and having doubts, not you. Having said that it is up to your own free will to decide if you want to save your marriage or not.For instance, you will be dishonoring yourself if you still wanted to save your marriage despite being physically abused. There are no "shoulds" and "musts". Each situation is different. Your inner guidance, through which God speaks, will let you know. BACK TO TOP
He has already left me. He has moved out. In fact he has already filed the papers. It is too late to change anything now. He was talking about marrying her. He said clearly that he does not love me anymore. He will forget about me - I am going to be history. Is my situation hopeless? It does not matter, even if he has taken up residence on Mars. A woman's husband was living in another country with his mistress and they managed to reconcile, but it took months and lots of faith in God on her part. You are connected spiritually. In fact husbands and wives are connected by a spiritual cord that grows thicker over time. Your prayers will reach him. Your thoughts - both good and bad - will reach him. So this is where you can put the power of prayer, visualization and affirmations to good use, especially if you want to save your marriage. BACK TO TOP
Can I make someone love me? No. However, you can offer unconditional love to someone. Unconditional love does not equate to declaring undying love and smothering your husband with mothering acts. This will just drive him away. The best way I can describe this is that it can be something that can be offered from a distance, just like God loves us, but is not literally sitting next to us declaring His eternal love for us every minute. Human beings, whether they believe in God or not, are innately drawn to this type of love. "Of all our emotions, though, near-death experiencers declare that love is primary. Are Near Death Experiences for real? Quoted from http://www.near-death.com/faq.html. "Science deals with objective matters, which can be observed, tested and measured by someone else. A near-death experience is a subjective experience: it can be felt and reported only by the person who has it. For this, among other reasons, some people claim that the near-death experience cannot be scientifically "real." Conversely, other scientists consider near-death experiences as scientifically valid as any other intense personal experience. The difference may be that some scientists demand physical proof of reality, while others are less troubled by ambiguity.
In any event, tens of thousands of near-death experiences are being reported from all parts of the world. Something does seem to be happening, whether or not everyone agrees that it is scientifically understandable." "Pure logical thinking cannot yield us any knowledge of the empirical world. All knowledge of reality starts from experience and ends in it." - Albert Einstein
