Inspiration/Empowerment for Marriage/Relationships

 1) Attitude of Gratitude

When you offer gratitude, you attract more of what you are offering gratitude for. You vibrationally attract similar thought-forms and energies to you.

Application to marriage/relationships:

List all the positive attributes of your spouse.

-        Thank your spouse for having those attributes. When you offer gratitude, appreciation and admiration for all that your spouse already is, you inspire and encourage your spouse to act more positively towards you.

-    When offering gratitude, do it from the heart.

-        Gratitude can also be offered both in visualizations. Forgive yourself and your partner in the visualization, where appropriate. Then offer gratitude and love to your partner.

2) Humor

In her book, "Pulmonary Rehabilitation: Guidelines to Success," Patty Wooten noted:

The ability to laugh at a situation or problem gives us a feeling of superiority and power. Humor and laughter can foster a positive and hopeful attitude. We are less likely to succumb to feelings of depression and helplessness if we are able to laugh at what is troubling us. Humor gives us a sense of perspective on our problems. Laughter provides an opportunity for the release of those uncomfortable emotions which, if held inside, may create biochemical changes that are harmful to the body.

Application to marriage/relationships:

When was the last time you both laughed yourself silly? When was the last time you “played” with each other? There arebooks on ideas for activities, if you run out of fun things to do.

2) Role Models

Collect picture cut-outs of role models. Read their autobiography. If they are musicians, listen to their albums especially if you find the lyrics inspiring. Even better, watch music videos/documentaries of your role models.

Reflect on their vision, what values they stand for, especially in times of crisis.

Complete the following statement.

In times of <difficult period> my role model stood for <value>. By standing for the same <value> in my situation, I see myself < acting more and more in an empowering manner/state empowering behavior>.

3) Quotes

Keep a collection of quotes that uplift you. Quote often don't just inspire, they add a fresh perspective to your problems.

4) Judgment vs Discernment

Determining if a situation serves in the best interests for your soul evolvement.

Discernment – Law of attraction, Are you drawn to something or not?

Judgment – Determining if something is good or bad.
