It is recommended that you do the following exercise with a partner.
1) The tester and test subject should face each other, about arm's length apart.
2) The tester places his right hand on the left shoulder of the test subject, and the test subject extends her right arm out to the side, parallel with the ground.
3) To begin, The test subject closes eyes, and the tester presses down with 2 fingers on the wrist of the subject while saying “Resist”. The test subject should resist the pressure fairly easily and be able to maintain firmness in the arm.
If not, do a thymus thump to energize oneself. To perform the thymus thump, thump in the middle of your chest with either your fingertips or your fist.
4) The test subject is asked to hold in mind someone or something that they love dearly and have fond memories of. The same ‘resist’ command is given, and the test subject should respond with same or greater firmness than the initial test.
5) The subject is asked to hold in mind something upsetting; a sad/unhappy memory, idea or person. The resist command is given yet again, only this time, the subject will not be able to resist with the same firmness. With even minimal pressure from the tester, the arm should go weak and be pressed down easily.
At this point, tester and test subject should have a good idea of what differentiates between a strong response and a weak response. The underlying principle behind the technique is that truth and integrity have a positive effect on the field of consciousness, while false, non-integrous things have a non-positive effect on the field. The muscle response is able to register a positive effect in the field.
6) Other ways that one can test include having the test subject hold an object to her solar plexus and simply hold nothing in mind, while the tester states “this _____ is positive. Resist” (it’s important to use a declarative statement rather than a question).
The results of the test are impersonal (though they can be affected if the interest is not in arriving at truth, but rather in preserving bias–it’s important to be unattached to the answers).
- Tester sends "I hate you" thoughts to testee.
Previously tested results: Testee's arm went weak.
Implications: Your negative thoughts weaken your partner.
- Tester sends "I love you" thoughts to testee.
Previously tested results: Testee's arms remained strong.
Implications: Your positive thoughts strengthen your partner.

- Have a third person in another room, building even, sending thoughts of resentment, anger, blame etc to testee.

- You need 2 pairs of tester/testee for this. First testee sends thoughts of resentment, anger, blame etc to second testee. Second testee sends positive, loving thoughts towards first testee. Test both the testees.
Previously tested results: Both testees' arms remained strong.
Implications: Positive thoughts are more powerful than negative ones.
